There are many reasons to be proud to be part of Liverpool City Region – but here’s one thing you might not already know. Liverpool has one of the UK’s longest-standing Arab communities, AND we’re home to the UK’s longest-running annual Arab arts and cultures festival!
Right now, LAAF’s ability to bring diverse communities together has never been more important. As misinformation spreads fast and communities risk becoming more polarised, we harness that curious ability art has to allow one person, with one set of life experiences, to speak directly to the heart of another Even in one of the toughest periods for organisations like ours, we’re not just still here – we’re making a real impact.
This year, our Festival, year-round events and community and education work showcased over 90 artists and reached 38,000 people from across the Liverpool City Region and beyond, showing how powerful arts can be when it’s rooted in community.
