This workshop is for both beginner oud players and those with no experience playing the oud.

The word maqam (pl. maqamat), refers to the scale or key in Arabic musical tradition. Maqamat contains 6 definitive tones, each carrying a specific mood and spirit. The scale of a maqam is defined by its tonal intervals. In this series, the intervals of each maqam are represented visually.
