Palestinian dancer Fares Farraj leads three dabke dance classes for all ages and skills at World Museum Liverpool.
Each 45-minute workshop and will introduce participants to the basics of dabke in a fun and engaging session.
Session 1 (12 – 12:45pm): Dabke for families – suitable for children over +5 years
Session 2 (1:30 – 2:15pm): Dabke for adults beginners
Session 3 (3 – 3:45pm): Dabke for adults intermediate
No previous dancing experience necessary. Wear comfortable clothing, trainers, and bring water.
Fares Farraj is a dancer originally from Palestine. He has taught and facilitated creative sessions in Dabke, the Palestinian national folk dance. Fares has volunteered and worked at refugee camp co-operatives, schools, community centres, and summer camps working to preserve Palestine’s culture against the background of military occupation. Fares was a dancer and member of the leading Palestinian Dabke troupe El Funoun Palestinian Popular Dance Troupe.
